A Hybrid Cost Sensitive Ensemble Approach for Indonesian Local Script Handwritten Recognition
A two-stage hybrid workflow for recognizing handwritten Nusantara scripts across nine local scripts and 228 character classes, combining MobileNetV2 and EfficientNet-B0 feature extraction with a cost-sensitive gradient boosting ensemble. The WeightedVote ensemble reached a Macro F1 score of 0.9160, 3.90% higher than the best individual model.
